Michelle Giuda’s deep commitment to America stems from her mother’s escape from Vietnam and her father’s service in the Vietnam War, instilling in her a foundational love of country and determination.
Twice rejected from her dream of walking on to the UCLA Gymnastics team, she persevered, becoming a two-time Team Captain, four-time NACGC Scholastic All-American, and member of the Bruins' NCAA championship squad.
Her career began as Press Secretary to former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, followed by two presidential appointments. As Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs, Michelle led the State Department’s most significant modernization in two decades, then earned unanimous Senate confirmation to the Board of the U.S. Agency for Global Media.
In the private sector, she rose to become the youngest member of the executive leadership team at the world’s largest publicly held communications firm, earning a spot on Ad Age’s 40 Under 40 list and advising Fortune 500 companies on geopolitical risk.
Today, as CEO of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue, she unites the U.S. and its allies to advance freedom through trusted technology.

Previously, Giuda was Executive Vice President of Geopolitical Strategy & Risk at global communications firm Weber Shandwick. Giuda was appointed by the President of the United States to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs from 2018 to 2020. In 2019, Giuda was also delegated the authorities of the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. In this capacity, she also served as a Board Member of the U.S. Agency for Global Media.
In 2019, Giuda led and executed the largest restructuring at the State Department in twenty years to create the Bureau of Global Public Affairs and modernize the Department’s global public affairs and public diplomacy operations. Previously, Giuda was Senior Vice President at Weber Shandwick as well as Deputy Press Secretary for former Speaker of the House and presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.
In 2023, Giuda was appointed by the president and unanimously confirmed by the Senate to serve on the International Broadcast Advisory Board of the U.S. Agency for Global Media. She is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, a member of Business Executives for National Security (BENS), Senior Advisor to Concordia and Advisory Board member of the American Foreign Policy Council (AFPC).
In 2022, she was named to the Ad Age 40 Under 40 List, PRovoke Media’s Innovator 25 List, and was honored in 2016 with the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award by the Asian American Business Development Center. Giuda received her Master’s Degree in Political Management from George Washington University and earned a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA where she was an NCAA Championship Team Member and Team Captain of the UCLA Women’s Gymnastics Team.
